What changes when you leave Midjourney
You'd give up its Relax mode and editing tools, along with any Fast time you haven't used. Its help center sets out how each one works.
- Fast hours left at the end of a month don't carry over, and extra hours you buy last 60 days. (sources: 1, 2)
- A refund is only possible if you've used less than 20 GPU minutes in total. (source)
- Relax mode gives Standard, Pro and Mega subscribers slower images without a cap. Leonardo AI's Premium and Ultimate plans, and Ideogram's paid plans, also keep generating more slowly once credits run out. (sources: 1, 2, 3)
- Midjourney doesn't offer an API, and its guidelines don't allow automating the service; Leonardo AI and Ideogram both have one. (sources: 1, 2, 3)
- Its Edit model, moodboards and style references have no counterpart in AIPhoto-Generator, which takes a text prompt only. (sources: 1, 2)
How we chose
Each pick runs in a web browser without Discord and differs from Midjourney on price, free use or image privacy. We left out tools that are also paid-only, because Midjourney itself has no free plan or trial on its website or in Discord.
